What e-Medsys PM EDI can do for you:
e-Medsys PM provides effective solutions for practice management in so many ways, and as you will see below,
is inclusive of a variety of capabilities that can cost thousands of dollars extra when sold as “modules” as is the case with many other systems.
The e-Medsys PM is a world class software product that will comprehensively manage the business side of the practice.
A few points of interest include:
- Verify the patient’s coverage is in effect BEFORE services are rendered (what we like to call the “trust, but verify” capability) through the e-Medsys Electronic Eligibility Verification feature.
Eliminate the unnecessary work needed by staff, and the potential lost revenue to the practice when the patient’s coverage was trusted, but not verified.
The e-Medsys PM Verification capability alerts the practice by verifying coverage online at the time of the patient’s arrival, in advance of services performed. Verifications can be performed even prior to the patient’s appointment directly through the e-Medsys PM Appointment Scheduler.
In fact, verifications can be performed both ways, as defined by the user. For example, everyone with appointments one week from today can have their coverage verified as a group (not individually, one-by-one), and then again at time of arrival.
- Co-payments are prominently displayed not only at time of arrival, but beforehand since the data is displayed in the e-Medsys PM Appointment Scheduler. This allows staff to remind the patient when scheduling their appointment that their co-pay is due on arrival.
Balances owed on any past-due visits are also displayed, giving staff the tool needed to remind the patient of that balance as well.
- Numbers of visits are authorized and are counted down (where applicable) to ensure that unauthorized visits to not “slip through the cracks.” Again, this data is displayed through the e-Medsys PM Appointment Scheduler whereby the user can remind the patient that (for example), this appointment is the second of three allowable.
Of course, alerts warn the user about scheduling unauthorized appointments once limits have been reached.
- Electronic claims to insurance carriers are processed quickly and cleanly since the
e-Medsys PM will internally verify that (1) all pertinent data exists on all claims and that (2) diagnosis and procedure codes agree prior to submission, greatly reducing (if not totally eliminating) the chance of denials for those reasons.
- Insurance reimbursements are received as quickly as possible because claims were submitted cleanly in the first place, as noted above.
- Applying (posting) those payments is done as quickly and cleanly as possible through e-Medsys PM’s Electronic Remittance Advice (or payment posting) feature which is available for Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Shield and hundreds of commercial carriers.
This capability virtually eliminates the need to manually post payments from an EOB…a tedious, drudgery-laden chore which is generally plagued by human error.
