Patients make appointments through a “Next Available Appointment” search window with user-defined criteria such as appointment type, length of visit, provider, time of day, day of week.

Since the e-Medsys appointment scheduling system allows for a questionnaire and visit instructions to be displayed when making an appointment, these can be completed on-line, with the patient receiving the necessary instructions prior to the visit.


Questionnaires and visit instructions are user defined and can differ depending on the appointment type. The Practice Preference Table determines which appointment types will be allowed for scheduling over the Internet. For example, re-checks may be approved but Initial Office Visits may not be allowable.  

A “time cut-off window” gives the practice control over the span of time appointments can be scheduled. 

For example, the practice may not want to allow patients to schedule appointments within twenty four hours from the time the patient attempts to schedule. 

Or, there can be a user-defined number of future appointments that any patient can schedule.
