Specific to Gastroenterology, the system will track data on all information relating to the abdomen, hepatomegaly, colonoscopies and other gastroenterology-related tests, bowels sounds, rectal problems, surgery reports, and more.

Handwriting gives the physician the ability to make handwritten notes, sketches and drawings exactly as they would usually have been done on paper, but instead directly into the patient’s record, eliminating the paper.

Because e-Medsys EHR has a built-in electronic superbill, diagnoses, procedures and their fees are automatically entered during the encounter into the e-Medsys PM system for quick billing.  When the patient stops at the front desk before leaving, the data has already been input into the system, eliminating the need for front desk staff to post manually from a paper superbill.

At the same time, our own patented E / M Coder (also an e-Medsys EHR built-in feature) ensures that the correct and maximized Gastroenterology coding is used, that the possibility of undercoding and overcoding is eliminated, and that optimum reimbursement is obtained.

On the Prescription Management side and directly through the patient’s record in the e-Medsys EHR, the Gastroenterologist can select medications based on formularies and have prescriptions sent electronically directly to the patient’s pharmacy.  Issuing refills is done with one or two mouse clicks.
